I have a swimming pool and a deck, so I have been through a lot of market umbrellas over the years. While the pole of this umbrella is not as sturdy as some of the more expensive ones, this looks and works as well as any of them. And the bright sunny yellow color is just beautiful. If it fades or discolors, I plan to buy a new cover, rather than replace the whole umbrella. The price range on market umbrellas is all over the map. You can get inexpensive ones like this or you can pay hundreds more. IMHO this is a great value. The difference in quality, when compared to $500 umbrellas, is negligible.

Expect a very slight variation in color. The quality and value cannot be better. To extend the life expectancy of the product, make certain the base you choose does not allow water to stay in contact with the wooden pole. We also fold down the umbrella when high winds are expected.
Previous umbrellas were made of aluminum and broke; the weak point of the tilting umbrellas always seems to be where they pivot
I predict the PHAT TOMMY umbrellas will last a long time.

The umbrella is large and very bright. We purchased 2 for in front of our sandwich shop and it draws attention to our business. They are really large and so far have held up really well. The wood is very attractive against the yellow. They do not crank up. Once they are lifted you have to insert a pin to hold them up which is not as convenient but not a deal breaker. I would purchase them again.
