Awesome, September 19, 2010 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Sunergy 50140751 9' Solar Powered Patio Umbrella w/ 24 LED Lights Taupe (Kitchen) This was purchased as a mother's day gift. Much research was done. the size, strength, sun blockage, ease of use has turned out to be the best. The lights work well, and allow night time dinners. The mother is a picky 59 year old who is hard to shop for. This umbrella stills bring smiles to her face.

I'm in OH it's on my deck in a protected (out of direct wind) place, but it really wobbles in the wind anyway. It doesn't have a top vent to let trapped air out. I think were' going to need to leave this umbrella 'down' more than our last umbrella, which is a little disappointing. I like the look of the umbrella 'up' in the spring and summer.
Yesterday, one of the screws came loose and the support arm was hanging down. An easy repair, but not something I wouldn't expect from a month old product....giving benefit of doubt to the manufacturer...it could have wiggled loose in shipping.
Bottom line: I think I'd spend more $ and get a better umbrella and buy the light kit seperate or do without.

It comes down to the same basic problem that I have with most Made-In-China products: the quality is usually deficent and disappointing which, frankly, is also a problem with the company's quality control. This umbrella was no exception.
It's a nice looking and light umbrella; however, the frame feels of a flimsy construction. Out of the box, one of the LEDs was not working. I was willing to live with that since my expectations are so low for Made-In-China products and I didn't want to hassle the return.
Before a couple of windy forecasted days, I closed and set the umbrella on its side. After I stood it up and opened it, I found 4 of the arms, which raises the frame of the umbrella, had disconnected; the fastening screws came undone. /* The umbrella was as I had left it and had not been disturbed. */ I am returning the item.
